Vietnam and Uzbekistan work together

A meeting between Vietnam and Uzbekistan has been taking place in Hanoi. The meeting, which started yesterday and ends today covered a range of economic, trade, scientific and technological cooperation possibilities for the countries to explore.

Finished leather and footwear were pinpointed as sectors to pursue, as were agricultural goods, silk and construction materials. Bilateral trade in 2007 produced turnover of just $6 million, and the two countries feel that there is great potential for growth.

The Vietnamese delegation was led by deputy minister of industry and trade, Le Danh Vinh, while the Uzbekistan delegation was led by  deputy minister for foreign economic relations, investments and trade, Nasridin Nazhimov.
