Albert’s sets up leather factory in Jordan

Reports indicate that Lebanon-based Albert’s Leather Crafting Company is to open a leather crafting factory in Ma'an, Jordan. The company‘s general manager, Elias El Hajj, has signed an agreement with CEO of the Ma’an Development Company, Mohammed Turk. The new factory will be situated in the industrial park within the Ma’an Development Area and will require an initial investment of approximately $4.2 million.

It is believed that 100 jobs will be created as a result of the opening and that the plant will be in operation by the end of the year. Around 20% of production will be sold in Jordan, while the remaining 80% will be exported.

At the signing, Mr El Hajj revealed that the company is planning to open related units in the near future, such as footwear, furniture and apparel production sites.
