Leather exports fall 5%

Brazilian leather exports fell 5% to $1.21 billion in the period January to July compared with exports for the same period last year, according to the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB).

The main export destinations for Brazilian leather in July were China, Hong Kong, Italy and the US. Other countries that purchased Brazilian leather were Vietnam, whose imports increased 116%, totalling $64 million, Indonesian, whose imports rose 14% to $43.6 million, Mexico, Germany, Japan and the Netherlands.
