According to figures from the export promotion bureau in Bangladesh, Hong Kong was the top export destination for Bangladeshi finished leather in the period July 2007 to March 2008.

Hong Kong imported finished leather worth $75.41 million in this period followed by Italy ($37.07 million), Korea ($25.20 million), Japan ($17.37 million), Spain ($14.59 million) and China ($12.07 million). Other countries including Australia, Cambodia, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Poland, and Taiwan have also imported leather from Bangladesh.

Total exports of finished leather for this period totalled $212.75 million.
