A German pavilion will participate at ACLE, which will be held in Shanghai from September 3-5. It will comprise chemicals suppliers and technical solutions providers for all stages of leather production.

New machines and technical solutions for the tanning, shoe and leather goods sectors will be presented, as will components and accessories for the shoe industry.

Semi-finished and finished leathers produced from central European hides will be shown, and details of contacts for German tanners in the automotive, furniture, shoe, leather goods and saddlery leather will be available.

In 2007, total turnover for the German tanning industry totalled €450 million and the number of employees was approximately 2,500.
