Gemata to present new solutions
Italy-based leather machinery manufacturer Gemata is to showcase various new products at ACLE, which will take place in Beijing from September 3-5.
The first is its heat recovery system, which has already been tested in several Italian tanneries. Through an exchanger, the device uses the hot fumes expelled by the drying tunnels to preheat the cool air that is released into the tunnel to replace the expelled air. This reduces thermal dispersion, resulting in an energy saving of more than 40%.
The firm’s new energy saving system helps to cut down on the use of electric power and thermal energy. The system automatically reduces the speed and/or completely stops various parts of the spraying line such as the carousels, the scrubbers, the water recycling pumps, the burners (for the gas version) or the steam valves (for the steam version), the fans and exhausters for the drying tunnels, the heat recovery system and the cooling units when there is no leather present. Once leather is re-fed into the machine, all the devices re-start and resume their original speed.
Gemata’s new ‘G’ fumes scrubber is made entirely from stainless steel AISI 304, allowing it to be positioned inside or outside the tannery. It features four effective scrubbing chambers: a scrubbing chamber with a nebulising, self-cleaning nozzle and centrifugal impeller with Teflon-coated blades; a scrubbing chamber with multiple self-cleaning nozzles; a third scrubbing chamber using self-cleaning, solvent-resistant spheres; and a fourth scrubbing chamber with stainless steel AISI 304 double-shaped filters for the drops separation. It can be connected to the firm’s Spraystar as well as to other spraying machine brands. It comes in three different sizes.
