France-based luxury goods firm LVMH has appointed Renaud Dutreil chairman of LVMH Inc., based in New York, as of September 1. He will represent the group in North America.

Mr Dutreil, a graduate of the École Normale Supérieure and the Ecole Nationale d'Administration, is member of the Council of State. From 2005 to 2007, he was minister for small and medium-sized businesses, commerce, crafts and liberal professions.
