India imports more raw material

During the first 11 months of the last financial year (April 2007-February 2008), India’s imports of raw hides and skins and leather rose by 18.3% to $382 million from $222.8 million in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
Leather accounted for $306.5 million of this total.
