Tandy: flat sales for June

10/07/2008

Specialist leather retailer and wholesaler Tandy Leather Factory has reported June sales of $4.5 million, which is the same as the figure for June 2007.

Year-to-date sales are 3% lower at $27.1 million for the first six months of the year, compared to $28 million by the end of June last year. The company’s new European store, located in Northampton in the UK, achieved $94,000 in sales for June, taking it to $237,000 for the year so far. It opened for business in mid-February.

Tandy held a grand opening ceremony for the store at the end of June and chief executive, Ron Morgan, said he was pleased with the response from customers. He commented: “Our UK store continues to be a bright spot for us. I expect we'll see steady top-line growth from that store for a while.”
