Negative numbers from Colombia
09/07/2008
A survey of Colombia’s industrial sector has shown that leather is one of only a few areas that have shown “a persistent decline in recent months”.
The study, carried out and brought to public attention by Andi, the national association of industrialists, showed that 41.2% of companies in the overall manufacturing sector had increased their workforce. Leather and leathergoods producers appear to have contributed to the 27.4% who said they had cut jobs. The period under scrutiny was the first five months of 2008.
