Veg-tan consortium’s Japanese success

The Real Vegetable-Tanned Leather Consortium (Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana Conciata al Vegetale) has taken its 'Natural Sensations' exhibition to Asia for a second time.
Having successfully shown finished veg-tanned leathers from the consortium’s 26 member tanneries at Paris in November and at Seoul in March, the group organised a third event in Tokyo at the start of July.
More than 500 guests from the leather, design and fashion sectors in Japan attended to see the finished leathers on display and to hear a seminar delivered by Diane Becker, head of the footwear and accessories department at the Polimoda fashion school in Florence.
