Livestock harmed in fire

A fire on a farm in southern Manitoba has caused the death of 2,700 hogs.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police and firefighters attended the blaze in the rural community of Pembina on June 29. They managed to save more than 200 animals, but the blaze is believed to have caused damage worth $1.5 million dollars in total, taking into account the loss of livestock and damage to buildings and machinery.
