Leather exports up

Leather exports from Pakistan were up 14.6% for the month of May, compared to May 2007.

Exports in May 2008 reached $103.3 million, up from $93.5 million the month before, and also up by 14.6% compared to May 2007, according to data released by Federal Bureau of Statistics.

Exports of tanned leather were worth $37.7 million. The figures for leathergoods and footwear were $53.4 million and  $12.2 million respectively.
