Progress at furniture sourcing centre

A trading and exhibition centre for the furniture industry, which will include an area of around 93,000 square-metres devoted to leather, is 60% complete.
The facility, called the Asia International Furniture Material Trading Centre, will not be complete until 2010, but it is already open for business and hosts the Asia International Furniture Material Expo twice a year.
The centre is in a place called Shunde City, about an hour southwest of the important furniture manufacturing area of Dongguan.
When it is complete, it will house a total of 1,500 materials suppliers and 200 logistics service providers. It will also will have six administrative buildings, a hotel, an apartment building and a dedicated exhibition site.
