Assintecal reelects Luis Amaral

The Brazilian Association of Suppliers of Leather, Footwear and Leathergoods Components has reelected Luis Cláudio Amaral president for the 2008–2010 term.
“Positive results show the creativity and originality of the sector,” Mr. Amaral said in his speech. “We are adding value to our products and conquering more and more overseas markets. We expect to close 2008 with exports at US$ 1.1 billion.”
He added that since 2006, 1,470 jobs have been created in the sector and that exports have grown 18.6%. Projects focusing on fashion, design and technology have benefited more than 2,000 companies.
