Hide and skin exports up in India

India’s total imports of raw hides and skins and semi-finished leather for the first nine
months of financial year 2007–08, (April-December 2007) reached a value of $314.7 million.

This compares with imports worth $265.9 million in the corresponding period
of the previous financial year, which represents an increase of 18.3% in dollar terms.
