Workers laid off at Sadesa

Argentinian tanning group Sadesa has announced that it will lay off 63 of the 1,200 workers at its Esperanza tannery in the city of Santa Fe. Sixteen others will be redeployed in other parts of the facility. The measures will take effect on June 30.
The company has decided to close down the hide-cutting department at the Esperanza facility, saying that it no longer makes economic sense for it to run this part of the operation in house,
