Hide and skin exports down but meat still main dish in Uruguay

Uruguay’s exports of hides and skins for May 2008 were 16% lower than for the same month last year, but meat exports from the South American country are flying high.
Exports of meat for May were 110% higher than a year ago and earned Uruguay more than $625 million for the month.
