New product to enhance poorer raw materials

Specialist chemical supplier Clariant has launched a new finishing product, which, it claims, can help tanners overcome the shortage (and expense) of high-quality raw materials by helping them turn poorer quality hides into beautiful finished leather.
The new leather finishing product, Melio Ground UP, can, Clairant says, give a soft and natural appearance to raw materials that “otherwise would simply not make the grade”.
The product seals and smoothes open and buffed leather surfaces, does not overload the grain, levels appearances very well while allowing leather to retain its softness and natural looking appearance, it improves print retention and is suitable for use on both smooth and embossed articles.
