Growth in Bangladesh

According to the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) of Bangladesh, the country’s leather sector exports rose by 11.8% to $340 million in the first seven months of the current financial year, or the period from July 2007 until March 2008.
The breakdown shows that Bangladesh exported finished leather worth $212.7 million, compared to $198.4 million in corresponding period last year, showing growth of 7.25%.
Leather footwear exports also showed a positive growth of 21.3% to $120.7 million from $99.5 million for the same months last financial year.
