Exports break $1 billion barrier

In contrast with the sector’s performance in March, the Pakistani leather industry posted disappointing exports in April. The total exports of $93.5 million was down by 21% from March, but slightly up (by 0.24%) on the figure for April last year.
On a more positive note, the country’s total exports for the first ten months of the current financial year (July 2007–April 2008) are up by more than 20% to just over $1 billion from $835.6 million in same period last year.
