New product safety and environment conference

BLC Leather Technology Centre Ltd and the Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America (FDRA) are organising a two-day leather and footwear product safety and environment conference on September 17 and 18 2008 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Long Beach, California.

The organisers say staff involved in sourcing, quality control, product development, as well as company leaders, will benefit from attending the event.

The topics the programme will cover include: US product safety legislation; product safety testing for leather, paint, PVC, vinyl, and metals; understanding restricted substance risks in leather and footwear production; improving environmental stewardship and alternative materials; “green” synthetic materials; and product failures due to storage and shipping.
