Japan in Mexico's sights

12/05/2008

A working group will meet in Mexico City before the end of this month to discuss the reasons for a lack of benefits so far from an “economic association agreement” between the country and Japan.

Leather, footwear and meat are among the products that Mexican companies believe can boost exports from the Latin American country to what is still Asia's biggest economy.

One of the topics that will come up for discussion will be the need for Mexican exporters in the leather, footwear and other sectors to find agents and partners in Japan who can help them overcome cultural and language barriers.
