Leather exports continue to rise for Bangladesh

Bangladeshi companies exhibiting at the APLF event a month ago have reported receiving leather export orders worth $14.2 million during the the three-day trade fair.

Nine Bangladeshi leathergoods companies, including footwear, took part in the fair with the support of Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).

Meanwhile, according to the EPB, Bangladesh's total leather sector exports werer up by 14.7% to $267.6 million for the first seven months July-January of last financial year from $233.25 million in the same period the year before.

Finished leather worth $170 million—showing growth of 13.3%—accounted for the bulk of this.
