New vice-president for ICT

Luiz Augusto Siqueira Bittencourt, president of the Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB), was elected vice-president of the International Council of Tanners at a meeting in Hong Kong during the APLF exhibition.
Representatives of leather trade associations of several countries were present at the meeting, including those of Turkey, the US, Germany, Japan, China and the UK.
Holder of an Engineering degree from McGill University in Montreal and a post-graduate qualification in Foreign Trade at Mackenzie University in Sao Paulo, Mr Bittencourt is an experienced professional.
Before taking over the presidency of CICB in 2007, he was director of Administration and Finance of the National Department of Transport Infrastructure (DNIT) of the Brazilian Ministry of Transport.
