A 35-strong delegation of Egyptian business figures, led by the African country's commerce and industry minister, Rachid Mohamed Rachid, has visited India to promote trade between the two nations.
The Egyptian group has highlighted leather-with mining, automotive, shipping and textiles-as one of the sectors in which trade with India could grow quickly.
Trade between the two countries currently stands at $2.8 billion, with the balance in Egypt's favour, because of its energy exports. Both believe there will be mutual benefits from a growth in direct trade between them.
