The thirty-second edition of the Fimec leather exhibition in Novo Hamburgo attracted a large attendance when it opened on April 8.

One element that emphasised the event’s international credentials was a special buyers’ project that aimed to put footwear manufacturers from eight countries in touch with suppliers of leather and other components from different parts of Brazil.

The initiative was set up by the Brazilian Association of Footwear Component Manufacturers (Assintecal) with the help of external trade promotion agency Apex-Brasil. Visitors from France, the US, the Dominican Republic, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, India and Peru took part.
