Machines perform well for Taiwan

Taiwan’s machinery exports grew 5.1% year-on-year in the first month of 2008 to reach US$1.3 billion. The figures come from customs-cleared statistics conducted by the Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI).

Machinery for leather and footwear manufacture was up by 29.6%, bringing in export revenues of $6.5 million. Hong Kong and mainland China were the two biggest markets, followed by Japan, Germany, Vietnam and then India.
