Foundation stone laid for leather centre

One of West Bengal’s most senior politicians, Hasim Abdul Halim, has laid the foundation of a new leather processing unit at Dhontola, around 5 kilometres from Islampur.
At the ceremony, Mr Malim said that more than $3.75 million will be spent to set up the new leather processing unit. He added that the unit would be an important source of new jobs in the area.
The new facility should be ready to start production in a few months.
