Top-five place for tannery

Brazil has taken over from the US as the principal export market for Uruguayan companies, with the North American trading partner slipping behind Argentina, Russia, Spain and Germany as a buyer of Uruguayan goods.
Exports of beef and refined oils dropped during the 12-month period to the end of February, but the figures for the leather sector were positive. Leather exports as a whole were 19.7% up on the previous year and one tannery, Curtiembre Braná, was in the top-five Uruguayan exporting companies.
