Leather furniture still in demand in Texas

Times are tough for tanneries specializing in furniture upholstery, but one US leather furniture retailer is still expanding.
Town and Country Leather Inc has just opened a 700 square-metre outlet in Austin, Texas. The retailer, which specialises in Italian leather furniture and will carry unique designs by DeCoro, Leather Trend and Palliser, has said it is committed to opening more stores in Texas, naming Houston and San Antonio as likely future cities where it believes it can do good business. One of its specialisms is home-theatre seating.
Retail analysts have said that as the US economy becomes more and more difficult, consumers will go out less and spend more on entertainment in the home.
