Leathergoods boost Italy's trade with Canada

Italy's National Institute of Statistics has confirmed strong growth in the two-way trade between the country and Canada, with leathergoods—along with wine—leading factors in the growth east-to-west.
The government office said the two nations traded goods worth €5.6 billion in 2007, an increase of 12.4% on the year before.
Canadian imports of Italian leather footwear was up by 23%.
Italy's main imports from Canada were raw materials; in total, goods worth €1.8 billion went from Canada into the Italian market last year.
