Vietnam: leather growth goes on

Vietnam’s exports of leathergoods, including leather footwear, keep going up.
In the first two months of 2008, the Asian country exported products worth $889 million in this space compared to $ 750 million in the same period last year, showing growth of 18.5%, according to data released by General Statistics Office of Vietnam.
Leathergoods including handbags, wallets and suitcases accounted for $120
million of the sector’s export total for January and February. This represents an increase of 33% compared to the first two months of last year.
