DeCoro sues retailer
American leather furniture manufacturer DeCoro USA filed a federal lawsuit on February 25, over an alleged copyright and intellectual property infringement of one of its furniture ranges and the use of copyrighted photographs.
The suit, brought against retailer R.T.G. Furniture Corporation and Rooms To Go North Carolina Corporation, states that chairs, sofas and loveseats in the defendant’s River Leather Collection are “substantially identical” to its 2977 series which it supplied to the retailer between February 2006 and June 2007.
DeCoro hopes to stop RTG from selling the items and is also seeking damages.
