Stahl forecasts a rainbow of colours for spring/summer 2009

Netherlands-based leather chemicals producer Stahl is predicting a true rainbow of colours in its new spring/summer 2009 Leather and Technology Forecast for spring and summer 2009, ranging from the rich and vibrant to cool pastels, depending on the style required.

Divided into six sections, the forecast covers leather surface ideas from shoes and leathergoods to upholstery and garments, illustrating both colours and textures.

‘Plus Class’ highlights a luxurious collection with silky surfaces, reminiscent of evening romance and elegantly-styled cars while incorporating designs fitted to partying or dining out with friends in the modern day world; while a more simple, contemporary feel is created in ‘Evolving Shapes’, that is designed for subtle rubbery surfaces and modern, simple shapes with clean lines.

In contrast, the rustic look of the countryside with its rough-hewn surfaces and designs comes in the ‘Magnificent Rural’ where surfaces are inspired by east and west and are created to give a traditional, rural, folksy atmosphere.

‘Grand Bazaar’ evokes a world of oriental splendour to create rich, opulent leathers. Less opulent, but still with a hint of the country rustic, ‘Bohemian Reverie’ develops quiet, folklore styles on dried soft surfaces, while finally, the modern contemporary look is expressed in ‘Sungliders’ with its glazed surfaces in striking and rich colours which shine through transparent surfaces that can be smooth or embossed according to mood.
