Leather goods facility goes up in flames
According to local media sources, a leathergoods manufacturing facility on the Kasba Industrial Estate in Kolkata, India, burnt to the ground at the weekend, despite firemen working for in excess of five hours to bring the blaze under control. Although thousands of rupees worth of goods were destroyed, fortunately no casualties have been reported.
No details of the cause of the fire have been released as yet; however, an official complaint has been filed against the owner of the factory under the Fire Prevention Act.
