As consumer spending in the Middle East region continues to expand at an incredible pace, German luxury goods manufacturer Montblanc plans to make its mark on the market with the opening of six new retail outlets in the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait & Qatar.

Commenting on the decision to focus expansion in the Middle East, regional brand director Joe Nahhas said: "In synch with our international expansion plans, we are pursuing new growth opportunities in the region. We are constantly on the lookout for new markets as customers in the region are becoming more discerning towards luxury products." He added: "The per capita annual income in the Gulf is now in excess of $20,000 and there is more money to be spent on items that were once considered a luxury as the lines between necessity, comforts and luxury are diminishing."

Established in 1906, Montblanc produces luxury leather goods, jewellery, timepieces and writing instruments.
