The Egyptian Chamber of Leather Industries plans to construct some 150 leathergoods and footwear manufacturing facilities in Cairo and Alexandria and also hopes to establish a new leather complex in the country in order to increase production and expand the industry.

According to reports the country’s Industrial Development Authority has already earmarked land for the projects and talks have already begun with an Italian machinery manufacturer to negotiate a deal to equip the sites.
