Tuberculosis outbreak confirmed
The Saudi Ministry of Agriculture has confirmed reports that a number of cattle
have tested positive for tuberculosis in Madina city.
Commenting on the outbreak, Saleh Al-Lehadan, director of Agricultural Affairs, stated that 96 cows have so far been affected by the disease and have already been destroyed and that further investigations are being carried out.
As a precaution to prevent any further spread of the disease, all cattle in the region have been quarantined and a ban has been imposed on the transportation of cattle to other regions.
Officials said that the disease is "very dangerous" and have urged cattle breeders and workers to take all necessary safety precautions.
