Leather accessories boost exports

sector exports increased by 10.92% in the first four months of the current financial year (July 2007 to October 2007) to reach $136.35 million, up from $122.93 million in the same period of the prior year.
Finished leather exports crept 2.72% higher to reach $85.06 million, up from $82.81 million; leather footwear exports shot up 20.05% to $47.79 million from $39.81 million; while leather bag and purse exports soared a massive 1,029.03% to reach $ 3.5 million, up from $0.31 million in corresponding period last year.
