Luggage and leathergoods innovations from Lectra
French developer of integrated technology solutions for the soft goods industries Lectra will present its complete range of products developed specifically for the footwear, luggage and leather goods markets at the Materials at WSA Expo and Conference in Las Vegas next month.
New models on show will include the company’s new cutter range, including its Lumière solution, which is said to be a key element in optimising leather cutting for prototypes and small runs. It can be disconnected from the production machines if necessary, and optimises cutting times by allowing the combination of manual and automatic nesting of specific pieces, guaranteeing maximum process flexibility.
The company will also showcase the latest versions of its well known Romans CAD Software dedicated to footwear — a 3D solution which is said to significantly accelerate the collection creation process through real-time sharing of all data generated during the design phase of new products between decision-makers, designers, suppliers and customers.
"In a world where globalisation dominates local markets, the footwear, luggage and leather goods sector has to overcome new challenges, with consumers being increasingly demanding in terms of style and price. For manufacturers to build strong brands, constantly renew their styles and modernise production, innovative technologies and comprehensive solutions are vital," explained Pierre Bonnet, director of the footwear, luggage and leather goods market.
