Guess? holiday sales beat forecasts
While European retailers such as Marks and Spencer are reporting lower December sales as a result of the credit crunch, many companies across the Atlantic have seen better-than-expected sales in spite of the economic concerns which analysts had thought were likely to keep consumers away from the shops.
American handbag, footwear and apparel company Guess?, Inc. witnessed double-digit same store sales in its North American retail business during December, surpassing the company’s expectations.
As a result of this, and the double-digit growth recorded in November, the company now feels confident enough to revise its revenue guidance for the current fiscal year from 16% to 16.5%.
