Combining modern design and Italian craftsmanship
Working with small factories, tanneries, and textile manufacturers who specialise in traditional manufacturing techniques, Gus has launched its first line of leather fashion accessories for men, which aims to combine modern design and traditional Italian craftsmanship with its own "Splitshot perforation" styling.
Using thicker, vegetable-tanned leather to give the goods “an authentic and rich feel” and calfskin linings, the introductory line includes a men's passport folio, wallets and card cases the collection has also gone through a "Splitshot" perforation process to give the items an authentic and worn appearance.
Commenting on the line, design partner, Mark Loncar, said: "Gus is all about bringing back that really nice quality of handmade goods but with the addition of today's style and functionality. There simply aren't a lot of well-made men's accessories anymore that are handcrafted, masculine, and wear well over time. Gus is looking to bring masculinity back."
A wholly-owned subsidiary of Tonic Wear, Inc., based in San Francisco, Gus designs its accessories in both the USA and Italy.
