Leather exporters recognised
Despite concerns over Pakistan’s declining exports, five leather companies were amongst the 94 firms recognised for their achievements in the last fiscal year by the country’s Apex trade body’s “Best exporters” awards ceremony this week.
In the leather sector, export awards were given to M. Ajmal Cheema, chairman of Leather Field (Pvt) Ltd, Sialkot in recognition of the company’s achievement in the leather garment sector; Syed Yaqoob Ali, manager Sales of Muhammad Shafi Tanneries (Pvt) Limited, for finished leather; Abid Mahmood Qureshi, chief executive of Blue Horizon (Pvt) Limited, Abdul Malik, chief executive of First American Corporation (Pvt) Ltd., and and Asif Munir Malik, director, Kampala Industries (Pvt) Limited, all for leather glove exports.
The awards were presented by interim Prime Minister Muhammadmian Soomro.
