New president of Abrameq

The Brazilian Association of Leather and Footwear Machinery Manufacturers (Abrameq) has elected Delcio Schmidt, director of ERPS, as president for 2008/09. This will be Mr Schmidt's third term of office.

He has announced that his administration will continue the work started by the outgoing Abrameq president, Raul Ludwig, director of Master Equipamentos Industriais. Under Mr Ludwig, the organisation has carried out extensive marketing programmes in Brasil and abroad by taking part in trade missions, international exhibitions, and technical lectures and training.

A new managing council and board of directors have been elected too.

The members of the new board are: Raul Ludwig Júnior (Treasury); Heitor Schreiber (Leather); Davilson Nogueira (Footwear); Raul Ludwig (International Affairs) and Marlos Schmidt (Events). These directors will also take part in the new managing council together with Mauro Bauermann, Alexandre Zambelli, Jorge Kehl, Fernando Mattes, Marcos Fontana and Gilberto Silva. The fiscal council is formed by Raul Heller, Ronaldo Feltes and Alexandre Cora, and deputy-members Régis Michel, Ulf Bogdawa and Pedro Paulo da Luz.

The new members of the three bodies will take over their posts in January.
