Having unveiled its new Coripol GF for soft nappas just over a week ago, German chemical company TFL has launched another new fatliquoring agent, this time for soft and tight grain articles. Said to be suitable for tanners in search of a main fatliquoring agent to make soft but tight grain automotive or shoe upper leathers from wet blue, wet white or vegetable tanned materials, Coripol SLG is an anionic fatliquor which is said to support improvements in cutting-yield when used in appropriate recipes. It also has a low bleaching-effect on dyes and is stable in the presence of chrome and electrolytes.

For automotive leather it is said to offer excellent fogging behaviour, good print retention, a neutral odour and be free of formaldehyde, while it is said to impart an attractive, smooth surface and supports excellent moisture regulation for shoe upper and handbag leather it imparts

Based on a combination of natural and synthetic fatty substances, Coripol SLG provides very good light fastness and heat resistance and contributes little to COD values in wastewater as a result of a high level of exhaustion.
