Formaldehyde free binders recognised
American chemical manufacturer Rohm and Haas has been ranked in the ‘Top 10’ at this year’s EEP 2007 award at the Pollutec Show in Paris for its Aquaset formaldehyde-free heat curable binder technology. The award, which is presented by the European Environmental Press (EEP) group in association with the European Federation of Associations of Environmental Professionals (EFAEP), recognises companies that have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the environment by investing in, and developing eco-sustainable technologies.
Aquaset binders are made without formaldehyde or formaldehyde-generating materials. They are a said to be a safe, environmentally preferable alternative to other binders such as phenol-formaldehyde, urea-formaldehyde or melamine-formaldehyde and can be applied in many industries including the automotive and furniture sectors.
