Although the company’s chief executive “would have liked stronger sales”, American wholesaler and retailer of leather, leatherworking tools, dyes and finishes, saddle and tack hardware Tandy Leather Factory, Inc. posted sales of $4.9 million for November, 2% higher than the same month last year. Year-to- date sales improved 1% to reach $50.7.

The company’s Retail Leathercraft division posted an 11% rise in sales at $2.2 million, versus $2 million in November last year, whilst  sales at its Wholesale Leathercraft segment slipped 2% to $2.6 million in November, and 3% for the year-to-date at $27.3 million.

Chief executive Ron Morgan, commented, "I would have liked stronger sales from the wholesale stores, but am fairly pleased with our November sales results given the current retail environment overall. Our After-Thanksgiving sale was a success as we almost doubled our sales for those two days (Friday and Saturday) compared to the same days last year. That certainly helped us make the month. Our retail stores are holding their own with a modest same store sales gain, but a gain nonetheless."

Tandy distributes its products through its 29 Leather Factory stores, 72 Tandy Leather retail stores, and Mid-Continent Leather Sales store.
