Clariant forecasts a bright outlook for spring/summer 2009

Swiss chemical company Clariant’s Leather Business has teamed up with an international trend institute and an Italian designer to produce its new shade card of leather fashion colours for the spring/summer season of 2009 in which four themes dominate.

Globe Trotter takes a fresh look at ethnic fashion through washed, spicy colours such as Caradamom Pod and Pink Peppercorn, whilst shiny and iridescent effects underline the brightness and the tropical look of summer glamour in the rich tones of Exotic Paradise which evoke exotic wildlife and tropical rain forests through intense colours such as Kinablu and Scarlet Ibis. Opposites and contrasts continue to be an important theme and in Military Manoeuvres Clariant has included camouflage prints and ideas borrowed from army uniforms and vehicles teamed with softer shades from light beige to greenish browns. Finally, Future Form creates a futuristic mood through lightning metallics and pale lunar tints, enriched with soft colours such as Moon Dust, Milky Way and Solar White to create a style that can be used in sportswear or glamorous high fashion articles.

Clariant’s new catalogue presents the new trends on leather samples including all wet end formulations incorporating its new Medioderm dyes, whilst the finishing recipes are based on Clariant’s Neosan 2000 and PPE Pigment range.
