Due to the continued increase in raw materials and energy costs, Swiss chemical company Clariant has announced global price increases of between 5% and 12% for its products.

According to the company, Clariant “finds itself in the position now, where further price increases are necessary to compensate for the high speed of raw material and energy cost rises.”

In a letter to customers, chief executive Jan Secher, stated, “In order to meet the future needs of our customers, we have to remain a strong partner, who is able to further invest in process and product innovations, as well as in the availability, quality and safety of our products. On this basis we are forced to significantly increase our prices in order to meet these expectations.”
